Giasson-Fenker was one of four finalists in this year's national Face Off competition.
Santa Fe, NM- It’s like an Olympics of skin care, with licensed aestheticians from all over the U.S. competing for their chance to win gold…or green, in this case. Marilyn Giasson-Fenker, a local aesthetician and owner of Santa Facials, was announced the 2009 National Face Off winner this week by the contest’s sponsor, Rhonda Allison Enterprises.
“It’s good to have goals, and winning this contest has been one of mine for years,” Giasson-Fenker shares, adding “But the best reward is from helping my clients get rid of dark spots, wrinkles and other signs of aging that bug them about their skin, and I get to experience that every day.”
In the competition, aestheticians enter ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of their clients, along with journals detailing their treatment room protocols and home care over the 90-day time period.
Giasson-Fenker’s winning client, Cyndy Tanner, is also a long-time Santa Fe resident. Tanner received three peels, three follow-up treatments and two corrective facials during the competition. She also used an array of botanically-based, corrective serums and other products at home.
“Although I looked like the bride of Frankenstein for a few days here and there right after the peels, I loved using all of the products and having the treatments that made such a difference,” Tanner says, “Living in a dry, high desert climate is a never-ending skin challenge. My face and neck really do look and feel better.”
Competitors must use only Rhonda Allison professional treatments and home care products. The winner is personally selected by the company founder, Rhonda Allison, an aesthetician for over 30 years herself. She based her selection on the most significant skin changes, challenges, and overall results.
Giasson-Fenker receives a $1,000 prize, while Tanner wins a six-month supply of Rhonda Allison home care products. Santa Facials is located in the Design Center 418 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. For more information, visit www.santafacials.com
